Five Sport Arenas Renovation to Spend Rp 200 B

Jakarta Sports and Youth Department (Disorda) will totally renovate sports arena (GOR) in five Sub-districts in city this year. The rehabilitation must be applied since the sports arenas which is built since 1970 are no longer feasible. Besides, the facilities are not maintained properly.

From 36 sport arenas there were only 13 that had been renovated. There are five sports arenas will totally renovated this year

It is estimated that the rehabilitation of the sports arenas that would cost Rp 200 billion. Estimated costs for each of them is Rp 40 billion. The sports arena that will be renovated are Matraman Sub-District Sport Center Pademangan, Cengkareng, Cilandak, and Pancoran.

Head of Jakarta Sports and Youth Department, Zainal Soleman acknowledged many of sports arenas in city are not feasible and should be renovated.

"From 36 sport arenas there were only 13 that had been renovated. There are five sports arenas will totally renovated this year. Beyond that, it will be done gradually because of limited budget,” said Zainal Soleman, after Disorda 42nd anniversary celebration in East Jakarta sport arena on Jalan Otista Raya, Jatinegara, Wednesday (3/25).

From five sport arenas which will be renovated, the most severe condition occurring in sport arena Matraman and Lebak Bulus. Even, Matraman Sport arena now been flattened to the ground. However, it occupied 6,000 square meters land will be constructed 2 floors, consisting of auditorium hall on the ground floor and sport hall on the 2nd floor.
